Our prime minister has issued a formal apology to the Stolen Generation (mixed race aboriginals who were removed from their families for - well, basically reasons based on eugenics.) The policies that created the Stolen Generation were a dark stain on our history that has contaminated relations between Aboriginals and later Australian settlers to this day. I hope that today is the day that the long delayed reconciliation process will actually gather momentum and bring us close together with our indigenous brothers and sisters, without diluting and erasing their culture and languages further.

Otherwise we'll be making the same mistakes all over again.
