Ross, Julia and Lucas

I finally got to meet my nephew this Christmas (he's the one in the middle, looking away from the camera.) Ross and Julia flew in from Bermuda (via Hong Kong) and the whole family got together at The Dolphinage at Narrawallee, where we did nothing but celebrate Xmas and take photos of Lucas, and then Ross, Julia and Lucas stayed with us in Five Dock, and got to see some of Sydney. It was great catching up with the other half of the family without resorting to webcams.

"Real Christmas" was spent with my brother-in-law's family at their home in Illawong (part of the Shire we've heard so much recently.)

It was going well (except for, first [livejournal.com profile] murasaki_1966 then I forgetting to say grace) until the recent unpleasantness at Cronulla was raised (not by us) and disparaging remarks about Lebanese and people of Middle Eastern appearance were uttered by these otherwise good Christian folk.

I should have reminded them that their lord and saviour was of "Middle Eastern" appearance, but then if he had showed up in Cronulla he'd probably have been told to "f*ck off to Brighton".

Briefly, both plays ("Remember This" and "Faithless") have been selected for the Sydney Festival - "Remember This" will be done by Ferknerkle ([livejournal.com profile] ferkster's theatre company) with the magnificent Malcolm Frawley directing. "Faithless" is being directed by Stephen Wallace. It will be interesting to see how he interprets the play.

More details when I know them, but I'm assuming the actual productions will be going ahead in February.

And based on my last entry, I may want to amend "Faithless" slightly.
