Taken from Dark, But Shining - last paragraph of Summer Reading is finally here!

Last, but certainly not least, on this list comes The Phantom Tollbooth, by Norton Juster. A week or two ago (If you haven't noticed, I'm awful with estimating time in the past) my friend and I went to Borders, as always, and found ourselves lost wandering the Children's/Young Adult section of the bookstore for almost an hour. Do you have any idea how much fun that area is? That's really were all the good books are. To hell with the "literature" section.

Anyway, this was one of the "children's" books I picked up that day. I'm two chapters in and it's already quite possibly The Greatest Thing Ever. Seriously. Buy a copy. Or two. Or, you know, seventeen if you need to build a small yet entertaining fort.

Seriously, one of the greatest books ever written. I used to read it every year through High School. If you haven't read it - what are you waiting for?

will be on at the Sydney Opera House Drama Studio on the 10th of July, starting at 7pm.

You can book (and find out slightly more) here.

[livejournal.com profile] ferkster and I had the first reading with the director yesterday. It went really well, so I'm looking forward to the production - as the director, Darren (who was Rick Rampage in our last play), will be casting actors for all the roles.
