Yes, it certainly does rock. Song choice is usually quite hard-rock-based, but I just got through a section of ballads and a '50s rock 'n roll tune, so they seem happy to mix it up a bit too. Perhaps there will be expansion packs with more variety of styles!
Smoke on the Water is in the first Guitar Hero game. The second one has Freebird. Neither has Stairway To Heaven. I suspect they're saving that one for GH3.
YES YES YES!!!!! I played Last Friday! It ROCKS! I managed to finish the game on mediu,m. Freebird is the last encore... I had so much fun that I burst a blood vessel in my eye from the excitement. I also couldn't move my left wrist for 2 days... So much fun that I'm going to buy a PS2 tomorrow!
