Reading your blog, you had the pleasure of meeting Mr Schiavelli (and Penn Jillette) - I'm so jealous.
What I liked most about Vincent Schiavelli is his grace as an actor, he always brought more to whatever part he played than was required, and he always showed up in the oddest of films. I recently rewatched "Better Off Dead" and there he was, playing the world's greatest maths teacher.
