Nick Stathopoulos - Anthropocene
Nick's new exhibition opened today at the NG Art Gallery in Chippendale
It's different to the previous exhibitions - Toy Porn 1 & 2 with photo realistic paintings of toys - in that the paintings are more directly surreal. Mostly ornate objects floating in the sky or above a landscape. Absolutely stunning paintings and if we had the money and the room we could have easily taken them all.
We also saw the full version of Nick and Ryan's pastiche of 50s monster movies "It Grows" - but viewing conditions were sub-optimal, so we hope to see it in a better context - i.e. not above a crowded bar with blaring music.
