I read that last week. Salon had an interesting discussion about it, especially in the comments section. One woman ranted how Carter was the worst President ever, and only Reagan saved America. The rebuffals to that remark were great....
Carter's heart has always been in the right place - I haven't seen (m)any other ex-Presidents on the roof building houses for the poor.
He's a good and honest man, which is rare for politicians generally.
He's wrong about the Apostle Paul though. He was a misogynist twat and responsible for most of those dodgy "thou shalt not suffer a woman to speak" verses of scripture.
