Query

Is there something wrong with me that I failed to be swept away by the purported brilliance of Slumdog Millionaire?

Isn't it just Oliver Twist on crystal meth?

(I didn't hate it, in fact I didn't feel any emotional attachment to it at all.)

Try Twilight.

No thanks. I'm a male film snob in his forties, not a teenage girl. I doubt that the film (or book) will speak to me.

(or maybe I'm terrified of what it will say!)

HAH! I think it's okay to be a snob sometimes. Sometimes it protects us from the shit out there! Particularly from American remakes of UK tv shows :P

And I can be a SERIOUS bitch snob on books. It's like I have a blacklist in my head and if you mention a name on it, I'll start ranting and raving and frothing at the mouth.

Hell I'm very close to the target market for Twilight - 21 yr old female (22 on Saturday XD). I really don't know what people see in it. I've seen better romances, better characters and better descriptions in many other books. Oh and action that actually makes sense that doesn't feel it's just tacked on the end for no reason.

*holds self back from full rant* Must....restrain.....self!
