(no subject)

Hot Fuzz is the funniest film I've seen in the cinema in a long time.

That is all.

You know, I liked it. But it was nowhere near as good as Shaun of the Dead or Spaced IMHO.

Yeah, but you're a girl ;)

(I think Margaret's right, that there's going to be Shaun fans and Hot Fuzz fans - Hot Fuzz is very dependent on an appreciation of bad American action films whereas Shaun is not so dependent on a knowledge or appreciation of zombie films.)

Llyn wants to see Shaun now, and she'll probably enjoy it more.

There's also more unsympathetic characters in Hot Fuzz. One of the things I loved about Spaced is that it's one of the few sitcoms I can recall where everyone likes each other. I think that's what makes the Wright/Pegg/Stevenson/Frost combination work so well, they're good at sympathetic, likeable characters.

We're going to watch Shaun soon, so I'll let you know for sure which one I enjoyed more.

But I thought "trying too hard" was part of the point.

Okay, okay, okay - it's the funniest film I've seen at the cinema since Shaun of the Dead.

(which is probably true)

anyway, I'm giving Rob a copy of Survive Style 5+ for you on Friday. I'd like to know what you think.

(No, it's not a horror film, although it starts as if it is one - it's mainly the set and costume design that made me think of it as a Cat film.)

nice frocks pronounced with a Bogan Aussie accent

There's one particular frock during the Christmas scene (you'll know when you see it) that will probably fit the bill.

For a moment, I thought "Norse?? Why is Cat interested in Viking clothing?"

Must be because I've been busily making Viking clothing for the last couple of weeks for the this weekend's medieval event... which will be norse in both senses of the word!
