End of a mood

I thought I could get away with thinking things could be worse, and generally trying to adopt an unfamiliar optimistic view towards the world in general and politics in particular, but sadly I was wrong.

The report in the intelligence findings that supported the "war" on Iraq appears to be a whitewash, but it raises even more serious questions. One I would like to know the answer to is:

Why weren't our intelligence agencies given the resources they need to fight terrorism after 9/11? The report recommends the doubling of the ONA budget. Still, I guess they gave the answers the government wanted (without any pressure, it seems) so they should be rewarded.

A campaigner for Ross Cameron tried to thrust a flier in my hand at Westmead station today. I was more polite to him than I should have been.

F*cking Liberal party.
