Addendum to last entry
We will soon have some cats ourselves. Trixie (a fluffy tabby female) and Tomas (a sleek black and white male.)
murasaki_1966 found out about them through a friend of hers - they were left abandoned outside a veterinary clinic in a cardboard box. The woman who rescued them makes a habit of it, she has eleven cats of her own, half of which made friends with us last night.
murasaki_1966 tried to take the huge orange tomcat (that she had been dreaming about, apparently)
Photos (probably from the Veo) to follow next week, once they're here.

About the ginger tom thing. I put it down to be close friends with my Gran's ginger tom (which went by the name of Elvis Presley) when I was small (about two to five). He was a very friendly animal, and I've loved ginger toms ever since. And Tiger was a wonderful example. HE weighted as much as a six month baby and was friendly and sweet. I've never met a ginger tom with a nasty streak. HAve a look at the Chruch mice books by Graham Oakley for one of the best literary examples of the type. The books should be in the library (The Church Mouse, The Church Mice go to the moon, The Church mice on holiday).
