as, you know, I get a vote this year and I at least want some kind of informed opinion.

And I'm reading them on the Kindle although it meant buying them from Amazon. Dirty, filthy Amazon.

First book off the list: Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie

Opinion so far: I'm enjoying it - clean spare prose that pulls some neat tricks regarding the nature of the narrator/protagonist. Reminiscent of Le Guin for some reason.

Best Fan Writer goes to Cheryl Morgan

The Campbell Award goes to David Anthony Durham

And Electric Velocipede and Weird Tales won their categories (just got a Facebook update from EV)
